about

From 1979 to 2002, the Russolo Foundation worked to build replicas of Luigi Russolo's noise instruments, organized a competition for young composers of electroacoustic music, and played with its ensemble "Cabaret futuriste" in numerous festivals. Rossana Maggia has produced several records including 2 on the Bruit de la neige label and has composed new musical pieces with Luigi Russolo's noise instruments.

Fondazione Russolo-Pratella
Via Bagaini 6, 21100 Varese (Italie)

Across Europe, the Russolo ensemble plays noisemakers with such poetic names ((Hululeur, grondeur, crépiteur, strideur, glouglouteur, croasseur, froufrouteur, éclateur, sibileur...) / (Howl, rumbler, crackler, strider, gurgler, croasseur, frufrouteur, bursteur, sibileur...) and with such mysterious timbres (Crash, boom boom, bang, uuuuu!) in concerts worthy of those from the beginning of the century. On the program, the works of Russolo rub shoulders with those of other futurists such as Pratella, Giacomo Balla, Fortunato Depero, Filippo Tomaso, Antonio Russolo (Luigi's brother), as well as an elaboration of voices by Marinetti (Di Guerra, 1917). Pierre Schaeffer also attended the concert on March 18, 1982 given at the Center Georges-Pompidou and subsequently communicated in a letter all the pleasure he had on this occasion. The concerts of the Russolo ensemble no longer lead to a riot as was the case in 1913 in Milan. Today, at Cabaret Futuriste, Rossana Maggia adapts with great talent and fantasy futuristic free verses by Balla, Depero and Marinetti for voice, piano and intonarumori. .

Through cascades of onomatopoeia, Rossana Maggia, in a refined interpretation, propels us towards a vocal galaxy of sliding falls, slingshot effects and suspended planets,... personal futuristic path that leads us to the edges chaos!
